LEARNING HOW TO RIDE

He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. but when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me. Matthew 14:29-30 For every first timer on a bicycle, the challenge such a person has to overcome is looking away from the pedal. When I was learning bicycle, I was told to look away from the pedal but I found it hard to do so at first. Trusting that my legs without the guidance of my eyes can paddle the bicycle was a tough challenge but it was only when I learned to look away from the paddle and look forward that I actually learnt how to ride on bicycle. Similar thing was the case of Peter, he wanted to walk on water but he was finding it difficult to fix his gaze on Christ, the truth is that you cannot walk on water by looking away from Christ i.e. observing the wind and the water. When peter looked away from Christ, he saw the wind and became afraid and began to sink. When ...

SAVED BY OBEDIENCE (Genesis 19:1-29)

He came out against his fellow men and defended the strangers which eventually were the angels of God that have come into the city to destroy it; he has taken them into his house and ‘…and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate’ vs. 3. Abraham the father of faith was his uncle and Lot was his name. And when they had brought them forth, they said, "Flee for your life; do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley; flee to the hills, lest you be consumed. Genesis 19:17 His relationship with Abraham and hospitality to the messengers of God (Angels) wouldn’t stop him from being destroyed as long as he remains in that wicked city; Sodom and Gomorrah. Therefore the Angels told him ‘escape for your life! Do not look behind you or stay anywhere close to this duo city, lest you will be destroyed by their destructions’ (Emphasis added) Our relationships with great and holy men of God are not the criteria for salvation from the wrath of God. I HAVE ALL I NEED

During my school days, I was among the most group of student that didn’t have all we need for schooling, no work books, text books, only one uniform, only one sandal, only one socks, note book and pen against the school requirement of having work book and text books for all the subjects, atleast 2 uniforms sandals and socks. There was a boy that had this entire requirement, the only boy in my class and as much as I know in the entire school. His father is a comrade, and he gave him all that he needs for schooling. I personally survived schooling without having all these requirements because I kept borrowing workbooks, text books and sometimes school uniforms because I had no one that provided all that I needed. God hasn’t left us ill-provided in life, before He created Adam, He knew he would need food so He created trees for food, He knew he would need water so He created streams, He knew he would need a companion and so He created Eve, He knew he would need a beautiful gard...

STOP LOOKING

Someone said to me, pastor at this point I can’t see anyway out, am stuck in this situation, what should I do? Where are looking at as you seek help I asked? My uncles, friends, good spirited individuals, companies for employment, government etc. anything that can offer either job that I can do to earn money or money to help out? Stop looking for a way out from these; rather look up to heaven I replied. When David couldn’t see help around, He looked up unto God where helps comes from (ps. 121:1). The reason we can’t find help around i.e. in our uncles, parents, friends, government etc. is because help is not found in them. Help is not found in people or places even if the people are very rich and those places have opportunities (Isa. 31:1), help is only found in those people or places God is using to provide help for us even if they don’t look rich or lack wealthy opportunities (a land of opportunity only gives opportunity to those God has given opportunities in life). When me...

ANGER MADE HIM LOSE IT (Matt. 21:12-15)

A pastor shared this experience few days ago, he said, God told him to give a particular suit to another pastor, but when he went to do so, he found the pastor angry and bitter and rudely talking and replying every person that tries communicating with him and so this pastor for the fear of being embarrassed or not properly received or welcomed he has to leave with the supposed suit he was to give this other pastor. Just like anger denied that pastor a new suit, so has anger denied several people several good things and they know it. My cousin would deny herself food whenever she is angry, and I know few others that would deny themselves companionship, friendship, fellowship etc. just because they are angry. Some others take it on the innocent, they become terribly harsh and treats even those that are not responsible over their anger suffer because they are angry. The devil is using anger as a subtle tool in denying many of God’s children the blessings of God; he is making th...
