THE MOTHER WHO BOND HER DAUGHTER FOR 10 YEARS

The police had just been tipped that a lady had been tied and locked up in her father’s house for 10 years. When the police broke into the house, they found an appalling picture of a girl, looking so un-kept, smelling like she hadn’t had her birth in ages, her hair are filled with dandruffs, her skin darkened with boils all over her body and her clothes worn out and torn. The police quickly referred her to the hospital where she was shaved, washed, and placed on a special diet while she was administered doses of anti-biotic.
She had been mentally, psychologically and physically damaged, and wouldn’t respond to any question asked her as she gazed around her as if she was seeing another room other than where she had been locked up for the first time, she would slowly eat the fruits and food brought to her as the world gathered to hear her story.
Day one had passed, yet she wasn’t ready to say anything, then day two and three yet she is still dumfounded. A psychologist had been called upon to attend to her as she still refused to talk to any person. Meanwhile the mother had been taken under the custody of the police on the charge of kidnapping and adoption.
After several therapeutic sessions with the psychologist, the first name she called was ‘Charles’. ‘Where is Charles? Who is Charles her doctor would ask, but she wouldn’t say anything again.
Then the police would ask her mother, who is Charles?
‘So she hadn’t forgotten about him’ she murmured in tears. When the police discovered that her mother knew about Charles, they’ll torture her and then she said, ‘Charles is…the man who had wanted to marry her but I refused and got her locked up because I don’t want that marriage’. Why didn’t you wanted her to marry Charles? The police interrogator asked, but she wouldn’t say more under any pressure.
They started investigating who Charles is, one of the old neighbors who had tipped the police said that ‘Charles was the man who was in love with that lady and was asking for her hand in marriage. That the mother had objected vehemently and they had thought she ran away with him. But after many years, many of the neighbors started suspecting that someone must be locked indoors, though we never suspected it’s her, but we just knew there someone else in that house until the police raided and saved that young lady. Until the day of the police visit, we all had believed that she had ran away with Charles’.
The psychologist had told the doctors that she won’t talk to anyone anymore unless she sees Charles so everyone became committed to finding Charles.
After checking his previous neighborhood, they were told that Charles had left to a distant city. They would search him out in that city and when they found him, they invited him to come see the girl.
He was surprised to hear that she is still alive and yet married (He had previously thought that she married another man and ran away with that other man). Charles had looked for her for 8 years and because of the pressure from his friends and family moved on but it won’t take long his wife would die prematurely and since then, he had refused to remarry despite the pressures.
Charles was so happy to hear that she is still alive and single and couldn’t wait to see her.
When he returned with the police officers who had come to find him, seeing her for the first time in many years sent shivers down his spine, he started crying. The police had fed him with what had happened to her on their way to the hospital.
When she saw him, sudden strength came into her and her face looked suddenly radiant and she made effort to stand up, when Charles saw her, he ran to her and said…
‘I thought you left me, I had called God a liar; all those prophecies that we were ordained to be married I had called a lie. I became an atheist and called the bible a book of lies. I got married then she died, that made me hate God even the more. Lo and behold you are before me, with all those stories of what you’ve suffered just to be with me. He started sobbing profusely’. Both of them sobbed for a very long while as she fell into arms, resting her head on his shoulders.
Both of them went to meet the mother, they want to know what made her have her locked up for 10 years.
When they got to the station, she came and saw them and wept bitterly. The very first thing she said when she saw them was ‘no one can put asunder what God has ordained to be together’ she said that while shaking her head in disbelief.
Her daughter is very different, quite healthy and looking very happy. She had gathered more flesh compared to her skinny body, her chin and cheek have started coming out and her beauty is becoming evident by the day. But something was bothering her mind, why her mother did had her locked up for 10 years? She had heard about mothers not wanting their daughters to marry certain suitors but she had never seen or heard that any mother would go to the extent of locking up her only child for 10 years inside a room so that she won’t marry a particular person she doesn’t want.
That question kept threatening her psychological wellbeing; it has for all those years she was under the bondage of her mom.
The mother on the other hand had refused to answer that question during the several interrogations with the police, why she would get her only daughter locked up for the past 10 years just for her not to marry a certain suitor. That question was burning in the hearts and minds of many people
After a long quiet moment before her, she asked her, why did you do it? Why did you lock me up for 10 good years just because you don’t want me to marry him? Even when he was gone, you still didn’t release me? Why mother! Why! Why! She asked sobbing.
Her mother with sadness on her face said ‘I was afraid you’ll go and find him or he’ll find you should I release you. I kept monitoring him, even when he left the city to another and got married, I was tempted to release you but I was still afraid he’ll divorce his wife for you. After he had stayed with his wife for few years, I was tempted to release you then I heard the wife died so I made up my mind never to set you lose’. The daughter asked, ‘but why were you doing all this? Why was our union such a threat to you’. I belonged to a coven of wizardry and I was tasked never to make your union with him not to happen, should you ever get married to him, I’ll be killed. Your relationship was so divine, and having tried to corrupt it by planting lust between you two in vain, I tried to hinder it. She said ‘What do you mean planting lust?’ the daughter interrupted. I want God’s purpose through your marriage to him to be corrupted by making both of you start having premarital sex; I casted spell on you and him so that when you see yourselves you won’t be able to resist yourselves but some-how you both aren’t affected by the spell. The mother said. The girl said, ‘we took precautions, the first thing we do when we are together is to pray and because we did pray, our desires to romance will become too weak to bring us to the point of fornicating. And besides, we barely meet at night and without the company of another friend, may be a little girl who wouldn’t understand what we are conversing but her presence with help us stay calm’
‘Whatsoever you two were doing was working, so they told me to hinder your marriage to him because any relationship that we couldn’t be corrupted through immorality used to be great in the hands of God in destroying the works of darkness; the children from that marriage are more immune from demonic influences and the devil will have little or no loophole in that marriage because its foundation is on righteousness. Being a member makes it an obligation to hinder your union because we couldn’t corrupt it’. She said.
How did you became a witch, when did you joined witchcraft? The daughter asked with her eyes wide opened in amazement. ‘It all began when I  Became very jealous of my friend, soon I was angry always angry whenever her issue was mentioned, I didn’t know why I got angry whenever I see her or heard of her, the bitterness was killing me. I had wondered why her relationship and subsequent marriage was so great while I was stuck in an abusive marriage with your father. My bitterness (which was also the reason I was not enjoying my marriage with your father) led me to seeking ways to destroy the happiness of my friend, until I had a dream and a spirit promised to help me destroy her marriage if I’ll serve it, I pledged to serve it, the spirit told me what to do and I did it and my friend’s marriage was destroyed. Her husband left her for another woman and she couldn’t forgive him when he realized himself and came back to her. From that moment when I ruined my friend’s marriage, the desire to destroy anyone I see happy started overwhelming me. Seeing a smiling child, a happy couple, and anyone cheerful makes me mad and I’ll want to ruin that joy. My heart became dark and darker with each act of wickedness and then I was confronted with yours. Seeing you smiling by yourself because you were in love with Charles made me very sad, darkness had taken over me and it made it very difficult for me to live with anyone who is happy. I hate weddings, happy marriages, successes, breakthroughs and anything that gives people joy; I delighted in heartbreaks, deaths, funerals, and anything that makes people sad. I was always lashing out on people. The more sadness I cause the more I get promoted in the coven of witchcraft. Locking you up and seeing you cry daily made the wicked spirits that I serve to be happy with me and to promote me. They use me as an example in the coven as a faithful servant to the master devil.
I’m so sorry, all is vanity I see now, but how can I even ask for forgiveness? How can I deal with the hunger to cause pain and bitterness in people that had eaten me up? Can anyone help me not to be wicked? Can anyone teach me how not to be jealous and to love?
Charles interrupted, and said yes, I know someone…. The mother turned to Charles and asked him, have you forgive me already that you want to help me? He looked at her for a while and said ‘I have no capacity to hate, the day I became born again, God gave His heart therefore no matter the offense committed against me, I have no capacity to hate the offender’
The woman had never heard something like this; this is purely opposite to all she had come to know. She looked at him and said, can God also give me that ability to love and never to hate? Charles looked at him like tears wanted to drop from his eyes as he nodded in affirmation. With a shaking voice she said, I want it! I want it!! I want the bitterness to go, I want that jealousy and wickedness to disappear, and I want that awful desire to see others hurt and cry to cease. I want a change of heart; I want a change of life. Will God even forgive me? Charles said, yes He will, because the punishments for your sins had He already laid on Christ. Will you trust in God today through Christ Jesus? and she said ‘yes’. Then he led her in salvation prayers.
After she said ‘amen’, her face was beaming with smiles, for the first time she felt joy and happiness, the guilt has disappeared and she could feel her heart transformed. There was a sudden desire to call some people and apologize for what she had done against them and the first person who came to mind having received her daughter’s love and forgiveness was her friend. She called her and the very first thing she told her was ‘please forgive your husband’ then she went on to tell her her spiritual role in destroying her home. The friend couldn’t believe her, does it mean all that smiles and laugh and moments we had together were not genuine? She said ‘yes’ I was filled with bitterness and envy, please forgive me. The friend would drop the call and refuse to pick her call. The police would interrupt the fellowship of the trio and took her back into the police Cell.
Today Charles had married her daughter, and she was there for the first time, the joy of others became her joy. And she had come to know that whatsoever God had said, no matter what men do to hinder it, must still come to pass.
Charles and her daughter had brought her out from the police custody, her friend had slapped her and later settled with her (her friend had also forgiven her husband and her home restored) and she had denied and destroyed every object related to witchcraft in her possession and all those she held captive spiritually had been set free. Today the way she had served the devil she is determined to serve God even more and lead many to the life of righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit.
The End
