DEALING WITH LOSSES 2 Jesus was losing money to Judas Iscariot his treasurer and before then he had lost his father Joseph. Though he was helping others who had lost health, wealth, loved ones and their right standing with God yet he too had suffered the loss of His dear father and was suffering the loss of his wealth The best way to deal with loss is to help those you can recover from whatsoever loss they are facing. Don’t because you are suffering make others hinder help from those you can help alleviate their suffering. Some people take comfort in the failure of others because they failed, in the loss of others because of their loss. If you are envying others, you’ll contribute to their loss because of your loss. WAITING FOR NAUGHT? I saw someone standing on the roadside under extreme weathers; first the sun was so intense and then the cloud became dark as it poured heavily, yet this person wouldn’t move an inch from where he stood, I became curious on why he had to be waiting under such extreme weather conditions in an open place like that, so I asked and he replied, I’m here to pick my children, the bus they are in will be passing this road, I want to be visible to the driver so that it will stop when its passing You are only waiting when there is an expectation or communication prior time. Someone who is waiting on God in faith must have encountered God’s promise and is waiting on it to be fulfilled in his life. PATIENCE IS THE EVIDENCE OF FAITH There was no saint of old who wasn’t patient with God; there was no man of faith who wasn’t a man of patience Patience is the ability to wait when you think God isn’t concerned about you, or God is late in responding to your situation. Sarah was past 90 years waiting on God for fruitfulness, Abraham was about 100, Moses was 80 years before God gave him breakthrough in his ministry, David had his own issues too etc. God has called us to learn from these people. You don’t pick precious stones and gems on the surface of the earth, but deep inside the ocean where you’ll find lots of dangerous sea animals to first contend with. All his agencies have that as their primary objective; whenever we visit an agent of darkness for a supposed help, the devil sees an opportunity to steal God’s over our lives . *SIDE WITH THE WORD* Some years back I was afflicted by sickness by the devil: My head was aching, high fever, general weakness, lost of appetite etc It was Sunday, I had to preach in my church. One of my pastors came to my bedside and asked, how will the service go and I replied,' no changes, I'm preaching' He helped me up, I couldn't bath because I could barely walk so I cleaned up and he helped me get to church. I couldn't, join in the fellowship as I lay down watching them worship God. FEAR LIMITED HIS HEALING He fell down in the front of his building and cracked his bone a bit, the doctor said, he needs a minor surgery so that he can work straight again but fear wouldn’t allow him permit the surgery. He has heard how many people died during surgery and he thought to himself, that’ll be the end of him if he ever steps into that surgical room. Today he walks awkwardly and I guess, he’ll continue to walk in such manner till his death not because he couldn’t be made whole again but because he is so scared to give the doctors a chance. Fear will only bring limitations to your wholeness in life; it would rob you the fullness of life that God intends that you enjoy. DON’T SPEAK EVIL OF YOURSELF I’ve been sick since last week, my head has being aching, I’m vomiting and purging and feeling weaker over and over again, in fact I’m dying when actually, you are only having headaches. Things have been very hard for me; I’ve not eaten since yesterday. No money, no job and things are hard when actually you just ate some hours ago and you got some money on your account. THE MAIN ACTOR DIDN’T SHOW UP I was the coordinator of a youth ministry and we have a drama group and this group was to perform in an Assemblies of God bible school. It was a great privilege to perform in the chapel of such great theological school. On the D-day, the program had began and we were about to be called on stage; about 2000 student pastors and professors were already seated but our major actor hadn’t arrived. We called and called and later learnt he won’t be coming. What are we going to do? It was too late to cancel the drama ministration. As we sat disappointed, someone suggest, pastor Promise!
