THE PROBLEM WITH AFRICA 32

The little boy's name is Emma, he is always with an ice-cream or some snacks and whenever he is not having any, he would create a scene and before you say jack, another ice-cream or snacks would be handed over to him. His parents have bought packets of snacks for him so that whenever he needs to eat snacks, he would quickly get it. Today Emma is grown, no longer living with his parents and feeling discontented about life because  the society doesn't  hand over whatsoever he wants as quick and easy as his parents had done unto him while growing up. Emma started engaging into fraudulent business that'll earn him quick money and whenever he gets these monies, he'll indulge it on his carnal desires and before you know it, the money is finished, and he'll be looking for ways to cheat and defraud people so that he could earn and this became the circle of his life: defraud to earn to indulge on his carnal desires. The average African child was trained to get whatso

A man was digging for diamonds, the site where he was digging, many digs and find diamonds so it was very likely that he would also find diamonds. He started getting weary when it seems as if he had dug a little bit deeper than those around him, and yet he hadn't broken into diamonds, immediately the fear that he had either chosen the wrong spot to dig or he just wasn't lucky as the rest of those who had found diamond began to overwhelm him, so he gave up, took his digger and left. Another person came to his spot to dig, after hitting the ground a few more times, he broke into lots of diamonds. This is one of the issue with the African, he easily gets wearied of thinking deep enough. He'll often give up after he had thought shallow without any result, blaming unluckiness or his environment for his failure to get results. Our minds get sharper when its developed, and nothing develops the mind more than exercising it. We must have 'thinking sessions', where we a

THE PROBLEM WITH AFRICA 30

A father tasked his little son to solve a mathematical problem, when I saw the problem I noted that it was impossible because the equation wasn’t correct, so I quietly tapped the father and pointed to him that the equation he had given to his son to solve is incorrect and can’t be solved. He said, he knows, he just wants his son to learn to think and never accept any equation or problem in life doesn’t have solution should he think deep enough. So what’s the solution to this equation I asked, and he replied without blinking, ‘the equation is wrong’. But he has to think deep enough to find out that the equation is wrong. The aim isn’t for him to solve the equation but to learn how to think so deep and never give up on any equation he’ll face in life. I smiled and said, this is the kind of training we need in Africa. We need to train the African child how to think. Let’s tell the African child to think of ways common problems can be solved saving more time and resources. Let’s tas

One day God appeared to two people and asked them for what they wanted because they’ve been waiting on Him through fasting and prayers for days. Let’s call them John and Joel. Both of them have already prepared what to tell God. Few years down the line, John with his certificates is job hunting, going from one prayer meetings to another with the same prayer topic ‘I want a job that suits my certificates’ and Having heard how Joel was doing went to see him after many years, he told Joel how he had been job hunting and begged him to employ him after acknowledging how good God has been to Joel. Joel was a bit reluctant because the service he was providing in the society requires professionalism which John lacked though he is government certified academia. John then asked Joel, that day we were praying for our futures, what did you asked God for? Joel looked and him for a while and said, I had asked him for the wisdom to be able to provide the services and values I am now providing for

Someone once said, 'outside Africa, a thief is investigated thoroughly and every theft he was involved in would be investigated and his degree of involvement established before he'll be accused as a thief in the court of law. In Africa, someone who was arrested for smoking Indian hemp would be tortured by the police until he accepts that he was responsible for all the unsolved theft cases  of the police'. Many are shot dead by the police in Africa because some senior police officers want to prove that they are working yet crime goes unabated. When you take a man innocent of a crime and torture him until he accepts he committed certain crimes he had never committed, then you have made sure the perpetrators of that crimes walk free to commit the crime again and again. We lie about everything in Africa to our detriment, in sports we gather over-aged players and change their age to suit the category required. This make us neglect those who are actually in such age categor
