THE PROBLEM WITH AFRICA 32

The little boy's name is Emma, he is always with an ice-cream or some snacks and whenever he is not having any, he would create a scene and before you say jack, another ice-cream or snacks would be handed over to him. His parents have bought packets of snacks for him so that whenever he needs to eat snacks, he would quickly get it. Today Emma is grown, no longer living with his parents and feeling discontented about life because  the society doesn't  hand over whatsoever he wants as quick and easy as his parents had done unto him while growing up. Emma started engaging into fraudulent business that'll earn him quick money and whenever he gets these monies, he'll indulge it on his carnal desires and before you know it, the money is finished, and he'll be looking for ways to cheat and defraud people so that he could earn and this became the circle of his life: defraud to earn to indulge on his carnal desires.

The average African child was trained to get whatsoever he wants whenever he wants it; the rich does it as well as the poor. When a poor parent begins to apologize to their kids for not been able to meet his desires, the child grows up to believe that he has the right to get whatsoever he wants when he wants it.

When the African child becomes independent, he won't understand the meaning of patience in the pursuit of a better life.
He would lack financial intelligence.
He would always be ruled by his appetite and this would hinder him from thinking ahead so as to plan to invest properly.

The first rule for success is the ability to rule over one's carnal indulgences; the future belongs to whoever that can overcome his hunger for food and thirst for drinks.
Not until we've conquered the dictates of our body, we won't overcome the socio-economic challenges of our society.
The African child needs to be taught how to defer gratification because it is in doing that that he'll be able to invest in various sectors of the society to get richer reward and a better society.
The man who hasn't conquered his today's overwhelming appetites cannot think of the future and act.
We must master our emotions and conquer our appetites in Africa then we'll be ready to take the future now.
God bless you
