THE PROBLEM WITH AFRICA 5

Image
A barbershop in the USA had a one-day free hair cut which an African and an European have the opportunity to be partakers, the next day, the barbershop received flowers and a ‘thank you card’ from the European and guess what the shop received from an African?; A long line of other Africans seeking for free haircuts. The African man would want to suck dry whatsoever means of food or help they’ve received without making any effort to ‘give back’ to the source in terms of appreciation. That’s why they tend to lose friendship, aids and financial partnership. The uncle of an African child is wary of the calls of his nibbling, the godfathers of an African would wait in vain for appreciation cards and the caring brother of an African man would be sucked dry. Wherever there are ‘freebies’ that’s where an average African man naturally queues up. He wants to take without giving back. That’s why the African falls easily to ponzi-schemes, Internet frauds and lots more. 4 out 5 Africans are ...

ME AND THE MAN I SAVED FROM LOSING HIS FINGERS

It was about 2 years ago when I was in a public bus, one of the passenger’s hand was on the frames of the bus’ door and the door was about to be shut on his hand (shutting the door on his hand would had cut off his fingers) but I rushed and used my body to take the hit from he door and when he noticed what just happened, instead of saying ‘thank you’ to me, he came down to fight the person that tried to closed the door accusing the person of wickedness and evil and wants to beat this person up. He never noticed the pain I took the save his fingers. Like him, many are busy blaming the world for all the troubles and forgetting the pain Christ went through on the cross of calvary to give them comfort; We are busy hating the enemy instead of loving Christ; complaining of the troubles in the world instead appreciating what Christ did for our peace and comfort on the cross of calvary. We question why at our age we are not married when thousands didn’t have the luxury to clock ou...

SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS

Some talk about the devil in fear, I talk about God in faith. Some see the evil that had filled the world; I see the good that fills God’s creation. Some talk about how difficult things are, I talk how wonderful things are. While many discuss about their enemies, I talk about my friends. Those who detect when i’m sleepless and stay awake with me Those I didn’t invite yet they come to join me do what am doing Those who know when i’m disturb and want to cheer me up Those who laugh at my joke though it sounds dry and un-funny Those who notice when i’m tire and natter me to rest Those who make time for me though it cost it Those who forsake what they are doing because they think I may need their attention. These are the people who fill my world; these are the people I carry in my thought always. If you are among them, know that I think of you always and I thank you so much. Our world is not filled with enemies but friends; our life isn’t filled with hatred ...

GRATITUDE FROM A CHILD

One of my member which is still in the Sunday school decided to save her biscuit money for me, each time she comes back from school with the money and the mom wants to collect it from her, she will refuse and tell her mum that is for someone. The mom became surprised a little child already knows the meaning of giving and she becomes curious to know who she wants to give that little biscuit money to. On Sunday as they were coming to church, the child ran to me and brought out five naira (the lowest denomination in Nigerian currency) and gave to me. I was shocked as much as her mom, it was after then that the mom told me the ordeal her little girl has passed through to save and give me that money. Though it was little but that was the best gift I’ve ever received, I felt like keeping that money without spending it forever because those ordeals has made the money worth more than its stamped value. For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has p...

AT-LEAST GOD SAVED YOU

Someone was complaining bitterly to me how hard she had tried to succeed in life but failed, she continued on how she has been praying and fasting and sowing seed yet no result and was looking up to me to say something to comfort her then I replied. One-day I noticed some people watching soccer match and the score was nil-nil and I walked past them. After some minutes I heard great shouts of joy and rejoicing and I became curious thinking perhaps the supported team has scored but when I came in I discovered that the score was still goalless and then I asked, why the shouts and joy and they replied the opponent just missed a penalty spot kick. I looked at the girl and said, you may not have scored but God has made sure the devil didn’t score against you and for that you have to be grateful. All your prayers, fasting, seeds etc. if they didn’t make you score at least they made you not to be scored. Yes, if your prayers hasn’t made you succeed, at least it has hindered the de...
