resting your entire weight

RESTING YOUR ENTIRE WEIGHT A man serving as a missionary in a strange land was trying to translate the bible in the language of those people, he found it difficult to translate the word ‘trust’ until one day, when a visitor came to see him at his office, when he showed him the seat, he quickly relaxed without checking if the seats was good or not. On seeing this, the missionary defined trust in God as ‘resting all your weight’ in God without thinking. When you don’t trust, you check and analyze and think and calculate before you commit but when you trust, you commit without thinking. Pr 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight Not until you’ve stopped checking and analyzing if God would truly respond to His word, you’ve not trusted. We must drop what we know or claim we know and trust (rest our entire weight) on what God says. Ps 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. Commit your finance, marriage, he

immortality of the soul

IMMORTALITY OF THE SOUL The teachings about the immortality of the soul have passed through a lot of criticism. An author wrote ‘the teaching of the immortal souls is ultimately drawn from the ancient Babylon’s stagnant pool of religious knowledge’. This book further state “man is a soul and not that he has a soul”. Is this what the bible teaches? No, Christ said ‘and fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul…’ (Matt. 10:28) and Job furthered by saying ‘thou has clothed me with skin and flesh and hast fenced me with bones and sinews’ (Job 10:11). These portions of the scripture clearly separate the body from the soul. If the ancient Babylon believes in this, it means they are close to the truth. Some also claims that this teaching was manipulated to make it ‘easy for a priestly class to keep their flocks submissive and in fear of the hereafter…’ if the priestly class really did such manipulations, then they themselves were manipulated by the scriptures, fo

RIGHT GIVING

Sunday 31 st Jan. 2016 TOPIC: RIGHT GIVING TEXT: Gen. 4:4 and Abel brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, INTRODUCTION It’s not what we give that earns divine respect and commands God’s blessings on us; it’s how our gifts affected us. Cain gave but Abel gave a fat portion. Abel didn’t keep the fat portion for himself; he rather gave God the better of what he has. What do you give to God? Does your gift have any effect on you? Whatsoever you gave to God that didn’t cause you pain won’t give you gains. QUESTIONS/DISCUSSIONS 1.     Is God interested in what we give? Yes, He does (see Luke 21:1-4.) Christ was observing what people were putting into the offering box, yes; God observes what we give when we give. 2.     What makes our gift earn divine commendations ? Luke 21:4 revealed that God commends us when we give from our scarcity and lack and not from our plenty and abundance. Gen. 4:3-4

she never lacked ever after

SHE NEVER LACKED EVER AFTER (see 1 King 17:15-17) If you want to experience unending financial prosperity, take on you the financial responsibility God has placed on you. Don’t tell God you can’t because you don’t have, truly it is because you don’t have that’s why God beckoned on you to take up His financial obligation apportioned to you. God don’t use the rich, He uses the poor, He doesn’t use the wise, He uses the foolish, He doesn’t use the privileged and high classed individuals, He uses the less privileged and under classed people and He doesn’t use the strong, He uses the weak so that none can boast before Him (1Co 1:27) God gave a woman who has lost her husband to death, a single mom living in a land where there was famine because it wasn’t raining, with no thriving business and a son to feed with just their last meal a responsibility to cater for Elijah for 3 years plus. It’s that not too much for her? Doesn’t God have compassion on her predicament? Making such a huge

WHEN SEES GIVES NO RESULT

WHEN SEEDS GIVES NO RESULT Someone was asking and telling me that he has been sowing seed and yet no result and I replied, there is also someone who gave his first fruit seed offering without result in the bible, when we give like him we won’t get the result we so much desire. That person was Cain, he gave to God an ordinary gift but his brother’s gift has this record ’that Abel gave a fat portion’. Gen. 4:3-4 Seeds that yield great miracles are seeds that ‘…And the LORD had respect unto…’Gen 4:4 God only has respect for your offering when your offering causes you pain, like the widow gave her last meal, for herself and her son, imagine the pain of giving the only thing that would had made you and your son live longer to another man because he is a man of God (see 1 King 17:15-17). Another’s widow’s offering caused Christ’s respect in Luke 21:1-4. People don’t know that God observes what you give when you give. If the seed offering cause you no pain, it would grant you

WHAT SHOULD A CHRISTIAN DO IN THE MIDST OF SCARCITY

WHAT SHOULD A CHRISTIAN DO IN THE MIDST OF SCARCITY TAG: Every Christians in nations where there are famine, lack of jobs and harsh economy conditions In the light of the recent financial crisis in various nations of the world, especially in Africa, the question arouses, what should a child of God do in the midst of these scarcities? 1Cor. 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. There are no trials we’ll have now that we’ve not had before; the saints of old also faced economic crisis and famine, what did they do and how did God provided a way out for them? Ge 26:12 ¶ Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. Isaac sowed during the famine and miraculously reaped an hundredfold in the same year; his farm was connected to God’s

WHEN GOD BLESSES

Image
WHEN GOD BLESSES Whatsoever you have because you received of men would surely diminish, but whatsoever you source, would never finish. God doesn’t bless you to have, but for you to become the source of such blessings. Joh 7:38 He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, 'Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.'" When you become a source of something, you’ll never lack such a thing in your life. Do you know that you can always have, you can live your life lacking nothing? It’s true because the scripture says so. 2Co 1:4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. When we receive comfort from the Lord, we just don’t become comfortable; we become the source of comforts to millions of others. The comfort we received from God turns us into comforters comforting as many as we want. When God blesses you, you with that bles
