WHAT SHOULD A CHRISTIAN DO IN THE MIDST OF SCARCITY
TAG: Every Christians in nations where there are famine, lack of jobs and harsh economy conditions
In the light of the recent financial crisis in various nations of the world, especially in Africa, the question arouses, what should a child of God do in the midst of these scarcities?
1Cor. 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
There are no trials we’ll have now that we’ve not had before; the saints of old also faced economic crisis and famine, what did they do and how did God provided a way out for them?
Ge 26:12 ¶ Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. Isaac sowed during the famine and miraculously reaped an hundredfold in the same year; his farm was connected to God’s riches in glory because of his seed.
And she went and did as Elijah said; and she, and he, and her household ate for many days. The jar of meal was not spent, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD which he spoke by Elijah. 1Kg 17:15-16 Elijah asked that she brings her last meal which she did and because she obeyed and gave, she was connected to God’s riches in glory, she never lacked afterward.
God has riches in glory for we his saints (see Php 4:19), and the saints can only connect into this riches through their seeds offerings. When the earth’s resources have been diminished and there are famine and scarcity everywhere, you can rise above such scarcity by seeding. When you sow thy seed, you’ll be connected to God’s riches in Glory and thus you’ll rise above the scarcity in thy society.
If you are afraid to give, you won’t be connected into these riches above human economy. It’s difficult to give because giving makes you rise above poverty.

After a program back in Nigeria early last year, a woman met me by the car and wants me pray for her conception, since she had a first son, having another has been difficult. As I was about to pray for her, I told her she is now pregnant by the word of God (Ex 23:26). Someone said because of the suffering he was passing through that God has ordained it therefore he is going to accept the financial barrenness as part of God’s plan for him.
