2. ENTRUST THEIR TRAININGS UNTO THE HANDS OF GOD
Mr. Okon would always boast that he is a disciplinarian and doesn't take nonsense with any kids. That he knows how to enforce the children to obey him and for a very long while he thought he was doing well. The daughters are always home, they never stay out late, they don't visit friends and they are always doing what their father said until one day, one of them got pregnant. Who made you pregnant the father asked, with 'koboko' whip in his hands, 'it's you' she replied and the man was shocked. The daughter was so adamant not to reveal the true identity of the person who impregnated her, later it was discovered that she had slept with many men so she couldn't pine-point which exactly was responsible so she accused her father. She said, her father never allow her to go out and has never caught her outside without a tangible reason therefore its only plausible that its him who is responsible over her pregnancy.
This is an example of what happens when a parent thinks he/she is a disciplinarian and can train his child him/herself.
Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Ps 127:1
Man would always fail in any venture he thinks he can do on his own and succeed. If we don't request and acknowledge divine help in the training of our children, we'll raise them for destruction.
And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isaiah 54:13
There is provision for parents to entrust the training of their children unto God, it can only be wise for you to do so and not to trust in yourself.
No matter how disciplinary you are, you'll never be able to raise a disciplined child. God is the only who knows the thoughts of your child and who is always present with your child therefore He is in the best position to effectively discipline your child to walk in the path of excellence.
Take a moment now and pray for your children.
Prayer points:
1. Father Lord, I thank you for blessing me with these children.
2. I commit their trainings in your hands and I entrust their training unto you
3. May you use me when necessary but be in total control over the training of my children in Jesus name.
4. You are able to keep those who are committed unto you, keep my children in the path of righteousness in Jesus name.
Always pray over the life of your kids, casting their training into the hands of the Lord because He cares to train them Himself. Don't depend on the education you are giving to them, the close monitoring you are monitoring them, the way you guard them from supposed bad influence and the many things you do just enforce discipline unto them. Trusting in these carnal means would ruin the life and destiny of your kids because by the arms of flesh shall no man prevail.
The man who trust what he does in the flesh would always fail. Don't be a failed parent, let God train your kids for you.
