FIRST FRUIT OFFERING
Giving God the first fruit of your harvest is a law of the spirit; the law of increase. It dated before the written laws. Cain and Abel gave God the first of their increase (see Gen. 4). God regarded that of Abel more perhaps because it was a fat portion (Gen. 4:4).
Honor the LORD with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. (RSV). Prov. 3:9-10
God breathes into our barns (store room) and vats (jobs) to cause increase when we first honor Him with the fat portion of our first fruit.
The bible says our job would produce more profits and our accounts would grow fat only if we’ll observe this principle.
This is how it should be done:
‘you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land that the LORD your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket, and you shall go to the place which the LORD your God will choose, to make his name to dwell there. And you shall go to the priest who is in office at that time… And behold, now I bring the first of the fruit of the ground, which thou, O LORD, hast given me.' And you shall set it down before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God' (Deut. 26:2, 10)
Though God has promised the Jews the land flowing with milk and honey, yet they’ll have to bring the first fruit of the land to the priest ministering God’s word to their lives at that time to maintain the flow of milk and honey in the land. You send your seed offering to the minister or place where you experience the ministry of God’s word over your life to experience God’s blessings in abundance for that season or year.
Your first fruit gives God the right to pioneer your financial life for that season.
Every new harvest season for farmers or new work year for secular workers, it is required that you bring the first fruit or salary or wages or profit to the Lord.
If you have no job or farm or any means of income, you can wait till you get one. The bible says the first fruit of your harvest and increase meaning if you have no job or farm to harvest then you aren’t obligated to do so till you get one.
It takes faith to obey God.

THE STRUGGLE FOR WHOM TO BELIEVE

After a program back in Nigeria early last year, a woman met me by the car and wants me pray for her conception, since she had a first son, having another has been difficult. Someone said because of the suffering he was passing through that God has ordained it therefore he is going to accept the financial barrenness as part of God’s plan for him.
