MY COUNSEL TO STUDENTS WHO FAILED THEIR EXAMS

MY COUNSEL TO STUDENTS WHO FAILED THEIR EXAMS

I was called to address some group of secondary school students who just failed their o-level exams.
I stood before them not knowing what to say, but as I looked at them compassion welled up in my heart for them then what I said next caused them to cheer up. A mother asked me afterwards, what did you said to my daughter, she came home and for the first time after the day her result came out, she smiled, and we discussed and laughed like nothing is wrong.
I told them that I was good in matrix, calculus, differentiation and permutations etc. and I’ll rather face an additional Maths problem than write a 450 words essay. In fact, I failed my essays over and over again in school.
But today, many think I write the best essays and I have edited for several high school English teachers and proof read many literatures.
I looked at them as they wonder the connection of what I was saying to their exam results; then I continued, your exam results is not your life result.
Don’t give up on yourself, that you failed an exam doesn’t mean you’ve failed in life and for those who thinks passing an exam means success in life, they are far from the truth.

The real test is the one on whether you kept the faith on God’s ability to give you your expected future. Whoever that haven’t given up trusting God for his or her future has not failed in life.
Then I asked them, do you still believe in God’s ability to take you to your destiny and give you your expected future? They all raised their hands and echoed, ‘yes, I believe’ then I replied, then you’ve not failed.
God bless you
