STRENGTHENING THE POOR 19
A police officer built an estate and trained many of his children abroad from the monies he collected from bribery, laying false accusations on innocent people and shrewdly committing people into offenses so that he can profit from them unjustly.
He looks so successful and seems to have everything going for him, he was made a chief in his home town as he commands social respect. He was due to retire 5 years ago, but he kept adjusting his years to remain in office and continue in his clandestine activities but one day, there was a change of government, and he was listed amongst those to be probed, he tried bribing the judges but unfortunately for him, none of the judges would be swayed, instead that act was used against him to increase the count charges on him during the judgment. While fighting the case, he sold his estates, all his cars and withdrew the rest of his kids from school to be able to fight the case. He earned by bribery and believed that through bribery he would escape but to his utter disappointment, he lost all his monies and ended up in life imprisonment.
Wealth should come as a reward or harvest of the value we have created and not through subtle exploitative means. We don't grow wealthy by earning deceitfully, we grow poorer. The man who steals to feed today has sold his future. The amount of money we got through dishonest means is actually the amount of money we've lost.
Polar bears are hunted by putting blood on the edges of sharp knives and firmly planted in the ground, when these bears come to lick the blood, the edges of the knives would cut them open, and they'll be licking their own blood with the thought that they are still feeding on blood stained on the edges of the knives. Soon they'll bleed to death.
This is what happens to those who earns by dishonest means, they feed on their blood with the thought they are feeding on another's blood.
To train the African child to be wealthy, teach him to work for what he has, let him offer his services in honesty and not fall for monies that he hasn't honestly earned.
The poor honest man would soon be rich and the dishonest rich man would soon be poor.
Africa is poor because we want to earn without creating values. If we can concentrate on creating values, the wealth we seek would flow to us.
God bless you
