WHY DO WE HARDEN OUR HEARTS?

When we don’t want to be told that what we are doing is wrong, we prepare our heart to challenge whoever that tries to remind us that what we are doing is wrong. A man dropped the bible because he so much wants to divorce his wife and the bible was clearly against it. A thief intimidated his victim to silence because he doesn't want to be hearing ‘please don’t steal my property, its wrong’. Many youths stopped going to church that preaches against indecent dresses to churches that allow any form of dressing because they don’t want to be told that nude dressings are sinful. People shout upon those that sound the truth to them and call them Mr. Preacher, Mr. Right, Mr. Perfect, Holy Person, Mr. Correcter etc. just to harden their heart against the truth they speak. People excuse an evil because they want to keep doing it, some even search scriptures to look for a portion that they can comfortably misinterpret to permit them into doing evil e.g. like alcohol drinking ...

AMAZING TESTIMONY

Few years ago when I was still young in the faith and ministry, something remarkable happened, I borrowed my sister’s memory card that contained important documents. The phone I was using it with got a little problem so I went to fix it, so I removed the memory card. After few days I started looking for the memory card and I remembered that I removed during the time I went to fix the phone. The place the memory card got lost is a very busy place; hundreds of people pass through there and it’s like the center of the town. No possibility of finding it and I can’t tell my sister I lost her memory card, I was between the devil and the deep blue sea. At that moment I remembered this words ‘Lu 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible’. And then I dismissed it and said, God wouldn’t care enough to find me a memory card, as I tried to dismiss it, this word kept coming back to me ‘even in little details of our lives God cares; if He cared enough to know the number of my hair, th...

WHAT IF?

What if Joseph didn’t say no the potiphar’s wife, made her his sex-mate, he would have her speak highly of him before potiphar, he would get few favors from her and he would never be allowed to leave the house of potiphar for the wife would ensure that. Joseph would live in guilt and fear that if potiphar finds out what would be his fate? Joseph would be in bondage and he won’t be able to marry the wife of his dream for jealousy from potiphar’s wife would ensure that. Joseph wouldn’t be able to go higher than potiphar to sit with pharaoh as equals. Immediate and quick pleasure may bring certain bliss into our hands, but they sure hinder us from the ultimate blessing from God. Joseph rejected the quick offer out of slavery, endured prison, forgotten by friends and what did he received? Became as high as pharaoh, higher than potiphar and wife, was able to save Egypt and his brethren from the famine to come, was revered in all land and had more than enough for himself, family...

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?

Every time am hit with a disappointment, frustration and heartbreak I do wonder why it has to happen, seeing that I prayed, fasted, sowed seed etc. just to get the right result but instead what I get is frustration, denial, and heartbreak; is these the answers I have been praying for? Why are these the results God gives to me? For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. Lamentation 3:33. If God doesn’t willingly afflict us then why are we afflicted even after praying and fasting and waiting on the Lord? To understand it, I remember when we mold with clay, before any clay become pliable, and useful, it must be crushed, filtered, mixed with water and molded and then fired or heated. If God doesn’t break you and shake you up, and reshape you, He won’t be able to use you. God first transform us before blessing us, that’s why when you are about to get to a new level, you struggle with some challenges that tends to shake you up a bit and get you crushed a...

WHEN SHE TOUCHED MY HANDS

Olaedo my first direct niece was caught in darkness and she was damn scared that there was no one there, she didn’t saw me in the dark and so the shouted and cried and groped in that darkness. When I saw her anxiety, I walked to her and touched her and hands and called her name, she immediately calmed down and held on to me, the day was still dark but she was no longer afraid. We conquer fear not when the dreadful situation changes but when we hear the calming voice of God speaking and reaching out to us in that darkness. If you lack relationship with God, you shall also lack that comfort in crisis like this. If you have no one to touch and calm you, then life would be dreadful for you, but you don’t have to be without God in your life. For sure we shall all have moments of darkness in our lives but the difference would be, having who to calm speak calmness into our lives. That darkness would had been more terrible for Olaedo if she didn’t hear my voice and felt my touch...
