FORGIVENESS IS NOT WEAKNESS

A woman caught her husband cheating on her and parked out of his home, this man came begging and begging and she kept refusing thinking that the man had planned it all along; the infidelity and subsequent plea for leniency and so she bluntly hardened her heart against him. After several years of begging that she returns, he decided to move on, though life was never the same for him again; he became a drunkard and a womanizer, while this lady never was able to settle with any man again. She is spending the rest of her life lonely and alone.
Oneday she shared this story to her younger sister that was about to follow the same path by not forgiving her husband over some infidelity issues. She concluded that she regretted not forgiving her husband then.
Forgiveness first frees us before it frees the offender; we do ourselves more favour when we forgive than we do the offenders. Nothing destroys happiness and turns a man into woes and streams of sadness and bitterness more than un-forgviness. The reason life has been harsh to most people is because they have been harsh to someone they supposed brought pain to them.
When we forgive, we also receive forgiveness from God; God only gives forgiveness to the forgiver (matt. 5:7). When we retain someone’s forgiveness, God withdraws His forgiveness from us. Un-forgiveness is shouting boldly that you are perfect and error-less which is false.
Allow people take advantage of your forgiveness; it makes God allow you take advantage of His forgiveness over your sins.
Unforgivers live in hurt, pain, bitterness, closed heaven and are potential hell candidates. Christ showed that forgiveness is strength when He forgave His murderers though He had the power to sanction their deaths (Luke 23:34). Forgiveness doesn't make you weak, it makes you strong and mature and it keeps you on top of situations.
God bless you.
