I FEAR WHAT I DO WHEN ANGRY
This
was the confession of one of my readers after I posted on ‘anger’. She said,
she fights her fiances till they run away, say insane words to people, and
react too negatively that she finds it difficult to apologize or make-up for
what she does during her fits of anger. I’ve not married not because there are
no suitors but because any of them that see me in this state of anger would
flee for his life.
Another
lady confessed that she fell into drinking and fornication each time she was
angered and even after repentance she falls into it again when angered again.
Anger
on itself is no sin but it makes one pliable to sin. When we are angered we are
likely to say or do things that are contrary to our faith-life. Many are going
to go to hell not because they sinned with their sane mind but because they
continually sinned when they are angered.
Be
ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath Eph 4:26
The
way not to allow anger lead you to sin is by not letting it stay long. Anger leads
or becomes sin when it stays long in you. The bible says never let anger stays till
evening. When offended in the morning don’t harbour the anger till afternoon
and when offended in the afternoon don’t carry it till evening and so on.
Never
easily get angered, its not a virtue (ec. 9:7). Pr 16:32 ¶ He that is slow to
anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that
taketh a city. The ability to be slow to anger makes one greater than the
mighty and the grace to having anger under control makes us mightier than kings.
The
Holy Spirit can help you become slow to anger or have anger under control if
you’ll let Him today.
God
bless you.
