LEARNING HOW TO RIDE
He said, "Come." So Peter
got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. but when he saw
the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save
me. Matthew 14:29-30
For every first timer on a bicycle,
the challenge such a person has to overcome is looking away from the pedal.
When I was learning bicycle, I was told to look away from the pedal but I found
it hard to do so at first. Trusting that my legs without the guidance of my
eyes can paddle the bicycle was a tough challenge but it was only when I
learned to look away from the paddle and look forward that I actually learnt
how to ride on bicycle.
Similar thing was the case of Peter,
he wanted to walk on water but he was finding it difficult to fix his gaze on
Christ, the truth is that you cannot walk on water by looking away from Christ
i.e. observing the wind and the water.
When peter looked away from Christ,
he saw the wind and became afraid and began to sink. When you look on the pedal
of a bicycle, you’ll definitely fall from the bicycle.
To ride on in life, stop observing
the wind, stop noticing that sickness, those disappointment, those devils and
witches etc. start fixing your gaze on the word, yes, on Christ for faithful is
He that promised and He will do it. No wind can make you sink as long as your
gaze is on Christ (the word).
Hold on to the word of God, never let
go of if, as long as the word is still within your gaze, you won’t sink; you’ll
surely walk on water, yes, on that difficult situation unscathed. Amen.
Click like to join me make this
prayer ‘I won’t shift my gaze away from you Lord in Jesus name’. Amen
God bless you.
