STRENGTHENING THE POOR 22
Two friends were selling the same quality of shoes at the same price. One sells well, while the other kept getting complaints that his shoes are too costly. One day he asked his friend what's the secret for the success of his sales? His friend invited him to seat at his sales outlet and observe him. While he was with him, he observed that, he wrote 200 on the shoes and cancels it rewriting it 100 on it. so when customers come, he tells them that the price of the shoe is 200 because of its quality, but he'll sell 100 because he is doing a clearance sales. More people buy without complaining that 100 is too much. So you tell them the shoe is worth 200 but you've for whatsoever reason want to sell it 100 to them? His friend replied, yes, and they'll be very grateful for buying the shoe that they want at 100 just because I've learnt how to sell to them. His friend added, I kept attending seminars on marketing, it was one of those seminars that I learned this. His friend nodded his head and took the lesson home and applied same principle and his sales increased as customers stopped complaining that 100 is too costly for the shoe.
The same shoes you sell 100, another shop is selling for 1000. You just need to know how to sell and who to sell to and where to stay to get your target market. Having what goods and services to sell doesn't make you a millionaire, learning how to sell your good and services; how to convince people to pay for your goods and services and be grateful, that's the real skills that means millions.
To train the African child to be wealthy, let him master the act of selling. People just need to be convinced on why they need to buy and be proud of what they've bought. Unfortunately, many African feel shy about selling their goods and services, they fear they may be rejected. Of course there would always be people who would reject your goods and services but don't give up. selling is like fishing, it might take the fisherman long before his hook gets a fish and some times he won't get any fish. But as he keeps practicing the acts of fishing, the more chance he'll have of getting more fish. Millionaires like Aliko Dangote and Strive Masiiyiwa are all great sales men who hawked on the streets and sold stuffs to their friends. Start selling and learn how to sell, everyone is looking for marketers, that aspect of service would always be vacant no matter how many people are into it.
God bless you
