He was trained up from a Christian home but as he grew and graduated as a professor, he started doubting the existence of God, he has been reading books from atheistic philosophers and scientist.
He doubted the bible, the virgin birth, the creation, the resurrection etc. To him, whatsoever that can’t be reasoned out can’t be accepted as the truth.
One day he was in his dream when he noticed that a child was fetching water from the sea to a hole which he had dug nearby, having watched this lad for a while went to him and asked him, young man, what are you doing? And this teen said, I’m transferring the sea to this hole and then he rebuked him saying, you can’t move a sea to a hole its foolishness and at that instant he understood that that is what he too wants to do; trying to reason out the infinite God in his finite mind and thus his conversion began.
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1 cor. 1:21.
Its pride that makes a man says that something doesn’t exist because he can’t reason it out; it’s like a blind man insisting there is nothing like a rainbow because all he can see is blankness. Every man’s reasoning has limitations whether we accept it or not. One day I told an atheist that said there is no God, that you don’t know enough to be able to say that, one needs to be able to know all things to be able to say there is no God, and if you can’t tell me what I wore in my dream last night, you can’t tell me there is no God.
If we want to know more about surgical operations we read health books and study medical encyclopaedia but if we want to know God and get saved, we need to listen to the preaching of the gospel.
Christ said, believe and you shall see the glory of God i.e. understand your deep question about God and life but if you want to see before believing then you will ever remain blinded to the Glory of God.

THE STRUGGLE FOR WHOM TO BELIEVE

After a program back in Nigeria early last year, a woman met me by the car and wants me pray for her conception, since she had a first son, having another has been difficult. As I was about to pray for her, I told her she is now pregnant by the word of God (Ex 23:26). Someone said because of the suffering he was passing through that God has ordained it therefore he is going to accept the financial barrenness as part of God’s plan for him.
