FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
For he shall be great in the sight of
the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled
with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. Luke 1:15
In the old testament when the Holy
Spirit falls on the privileged, those fortunate were instructed not to take any
alcoholics because alcohols are known as spirit because they occupy the mind
and the mind is also where the Holy Spirit do occupy when He descends on any
man thus whoever that will be honoured to be chosen for the visit of the Holy
Spirit will be instructed not to take strong wines.
You can’t fill up an already filled
cup, you can only empty a cup filled with oil before you can fill it up with
water, yes, the mind/body has to be emptied of wine before it can be filled
with the Holy Spirit and any one that wants to be filled with the Holy Spirit
must totally abstain from strong drink.
Someone once argued that after all
Jesus turned water to wine and Paul once wrote that Timothy take wine for
stomach reasons and in reply I said, when Christ turned water to wine, it was
not yet the era of the Holy Spirit being poured out on everyone and that if
those privileged (the Nazarenes) were at that wedding, they won’t partake in
that wine because they were Nazarene (the Holy Spirit fills them). Each time
Timothy takes wine, he can’t function in the Holy Ghost because wine fills up
one just as the Holy Spirit does so if wine is there, the Holy Spirit can’t be
there, is either wine or the Holy Spirit or the Holy Spirit or wine.
Now the Holy Spirit does fall not
only on some privileged class like the Nazarene again because this is the era
of the Holy Spirit falling on all saint therefore the instruction given to the
then Nazarenes to abstain from strong wine now extends to all believers that
truly desire the fillings of the Holy Ghost.
John the Baptist was one of the last
line of Nazarenes before the coming of the Holy Ghost thus the angel warned
that he abstain from strong drinks seeing that he will be filled with the Holy
Spirit for a special mission. To effectively carry your life assignments, you
need the Holy Spirit’s filling and to have the Holy Spirit fill you up, you
need to abstain from wine, yes; strong drinks.
In this time when many Christian
folks take pleasure in being filled with strong drink rather than with the Holy
Ghost, decide that you’ll rather be filled with the Holy Spirit than with wine
