PRAYERS ALTERED HIM

Oneday, God appeared to a man and told him to push a rock, this man was pushing this rock though it wasn’t moving faithfully till when the devil came and asked him why he is wasting his time pushing a rock that wasn’t moving. This man reasoned with the devil and stopped pushing. Later God came and saw him seating and asked him, why are you nolonger pushing this rock as instructed? He replied, there is no need wasting my energy, seeing the rock hasn’t moved an inch since I started pushing it and God replied, but your muscles has grown more than an inch. That’s when the man discovered that his sinews have grown bigger than it used to be before God told him to push the rock. Then God told him, I asked you to push not because I want the rock to move but because I want your sinews and muscles to develope, because the task I have for you, you shall need a developed muscle to be able to carry it out. At that point the man regretted listening to the devil and quiting on pushing the rock because his muscles would have developed more if he hadn’t stopped. Like that man, God didn’t ask us to pray because by praying we move the rock but so that we develop spiritual muscles and sinews. There are more serious issues in the world God is preparing us to handle during our moments of prayers than the selfish little issues we are praying about.
When Christ was praying, answer weren’t pouring out from heaven but instead ‘...the fashion of His countenance was altered, and His raiment was white and glistering’. Luke 9:29
The ultimate work of prayer is not to give us what we want at the time we think we want it but is to alter the fashion of our countenance and perfume us with the glory of heaven just like it was on Christ when He was praying; because it’s the man that has being altered at the place of prayers that can overcome the world.

THE STRUGGLE FOR WHOM TO BELIEVE

After a program back in Nigeria early last year, a woman met me by the car and wants me pray for her conception, since she had a first son, having another has been difficult. As I was about to pray for her, I told her she is now pregnant by the word of God (Ex 23:26). Someone said because of the suffering he was passing through that God has ordained it therefore he is going to accept the financial barrenness as part of God’s plan for him.
