WHY MIXED WITH PERSECUTION?
Why should the blessing be with persecution I
asked?
Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you, there
is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or
children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a
hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and
children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.
Mark 10:29-30
God’s rewards for all who would sacrifice all
to follow Him would be an hundred fold of whatsoever they have left; job,
family, money, land, buildings etc. but mixed with persecution. What’s the role
of persecution in the reward from God I inquired? My spirit reminded me of one
of my mother’s farm, the plants on some sections of the farm appear greener,
fresher, and comelier but during harvest, there are no fruitage. The cassava
and yam will have no tubers; the corns will have no seeds inside its elegant
and robust shell. What’s the reason for this fruitfulessness? Is it because it
wasn’t fertilized? No, the reason is that these plants grew up under the part
of land that was covered by a big Mango tree. This mango tree shields these
plants from the scorching rays of the sun and as a result these plants look
prosperous because they are greenish and comely but they are fruitless. Just
like the scorching sun makes plant produces fruitage so does afflictions and
persecutions makes us fruitful in life. Don’t be afraid of persecutions, they
came so that you might bear fruit and that your fruit might abide. Every person
that ever became relevant to his/her generation will have the tale of a
scorching heat to tell you.
God won’t allow the affliction that would
destroy you come any closer to you, any affliction that comes, came so that you
might be fruitful and multiply in relevance to God and this generation.
God bless you.
