FIRST DAY AND THE REMAINING DAYS SHOULD HAD BEEN SABBATH
The
very first day man was created to experience is the day of rest. God made sure
He concluded the all the works during the days of labour before He created man
because He didn’t wanted to create man into work but rest. Glory
The
Sabbath is a day of rest and holiness and fellowship with God, and these are
what God created to be man’s constant experience in the Eden but for fall
championed by the devil man missed this constant blissful life.
When
the curse came in Gen. 3:17, work and hard labour began for man but because God
still had plans to restore the Sabbath (rest, holiness and fellowship) He
instructed the Jews to still remember the Sabbath every seventh day to keep it
holy and to fellowship with Him and by that keep the hope burning in them of
the time when Sabbath would nolonger be a one day event in every 7 days but a
constant event in their lives as God has intended in Eden.
The
work the curse requires us to do for we to live both spiritually and
physically, God sent Christ to do it for us, Christ became the Lord of the
restored Sabbath (rest, holiness and fellowship), and whoever believes in Him
would ushered into the life of rest, holiness and fellowship no longer as a one
week event but as the constant experience in his or her life. We no longer need
the seventh day to enjoy Sabbath (rest, holiness and fellowship with God),
Sabbath is now every day experience for the Christian who cast his faith on
Christ who has invited all those who are labouring and heavy laden (Mt 11:28).
The
seventh day Sabbath is a shadow of the every day Sabbath Christ brought to man
through His death and resurrection. Glory
‘Therefore
let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink or with regard
to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are only a shadow of what is to
come; but the substance belongs to Christ’. Col. 2:16-17
The
real substance every seventh day Sabbath is the Sabbath in Christ which isn’t a
one in a seven day even but an every day day. If you’ve giving your life to
Christ, you’ve been ushered to the Sabbath i.e. a constant life of rest,
Holiness and fellowship with God. If you’ve not giving your life to Christ,
Sabbath is faraway from you. Henceforth there is no day that you desire to
gather in fellowship as a group that’s no Holy unto the Lord because of the
works of Christ on the cross. Sabbath in the old testament is Saturday but
Sabbath after Christ’s resurrection is everyday because is nolonger about the
day but about Christ who sanctifies all days (Ro 14:6). Amen.
God
bless you
